Method
Preparing the Crab Legs
- 1
Thawing
If the crab legs are frozen, place them in the refrigerator for 8-12 hours to thaw. You can also run them under cold water for about 30 minutes to speed up the process.
- 2
Steaming
In a large pot, add 4 cups of water and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, place a steaming basket or a colander over the pot and add the thawed crab legs. Cover the pot and steam the crab legs for about 5-7 minutes until heated through.
Making the Drawn Butter
- 3
Melting the Butter
In a small saucepan, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter over low heat. Make sure it doesn't brown. Once melted, remove from the heat.
- 4
Adding Flavor
Stir in 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1 teaspoon of salt into the melted butter. Mix well and keep warm.
Cooking the Side Dishes
