Brew the Tea

Boil the Water
In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.

Steep the Tea
Once the water is boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and add 4 black tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on your taste preference.

Remove Tea Bags
After steeping, carefully remove the tea bags from the saucepan and discard them.
Sweeten the Tea

While the tea is still warm, stir in 1 cup of granulated sugar until it is completely dissolved.

If desired, squeeze the juice of 1 whole lemon into the tea and stir well.
Serve the Tea

Allow the sweetened tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour until chilled.

In serving glasses, add 1 cup of ice cubes to each glass.
