Method

Brisket Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brisket Rub

In a small bowl, mix together kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, brown sugar, and liquid smoke. This will be the rub for your brisket.

  2. 2

    Apply the Rub

Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket, ensuring it is evenly coated. Let it sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Smoker

Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C). If using wood chips, soak them in water for about 30 minutes before placing them in the smoker.

  4. 4

    Smoke the Brisket

Place the brisket in the smoker and cook for about 1.5 hours per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C). Baste the brisket with beef broth every hour to keep it moist.

  5. 5

    Rest the Brisket

Once cooked, remove the brisket from the smoker and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Sides Preparation

  1. 6

    Make the Coleslaw

In a large bowl, combine coleslaw mix, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly coated. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

  2. 7

Prepare the Corn on the Cob

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the corn on the cob and cook for 5-7 minutes until tender. Drain and slather with butter and additional salt to taste.
