Main Dish

Side Dish 1 - Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Side Dish 2 - Sautéed Green Beans

Method

Main Dish

  1. 1

    Prepare the Prime Rib

Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). Rub the prime rib with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on all sides.

  2. 2

    Roast the Prime Rib

Place the prime rib in a roasting pan and insert it into the preheated oven. Roast for 20 minutes, then reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (163°C) and continue roasting for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.

  3. 3

    Rest the Meat

Once done, remove the prime rib from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing.

Side Dish 1 - Garlic Mashed Potatoes

  1. 4

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into quarters. Place them in a pot, cover with water, and add a teaspoon of salt. Bring to a boil and cook until the potatoes are fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 5

    Prepare Garlic Butter

While the potatoes are boiling, mince the garlic cloves. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat and add the minced garlic. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, but do not brown.

  3. 6

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Pour in the garlic butter mixture and milk. Mash until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning with more salt if necessary.

Side Dish 2 - Sautéed Green Beans

  1. 7

    Prepare the Green Beans

Trim the ends of the green beans and rinse them under cold water. Set aside.

  2. 8

    Sauté the Green Beans

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

  3. 9

    Cook the Beans

Add the green beans to the skillet, season with salt and black pepper, and sauté for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are tender but still crisp.
