Dressing Preparation
- 1
Make the Caesar Dressing
In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper until smooth and well combined.
- 2
Taste and Adjust
Taste the dressing and adjust seasoning as needed. If you prefer a tangier flavor, add a bit more lemon juice.
- 3
Chill the Dressing
Cover the dressing and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Salad Assembly
- 4
Prepare the Romaine
Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water, then dry it using a salad spinner or paper towels. Tear the leaves into bite-sized pieces.
- 5
Combine Ingredients
In a large salad bowl, add the torn romaine lettuce, shaved Parmesan cheese, and croutons.
- 6
Dress the Salad
Drizzle the chilled Caesar dressing over the salad mixture. Toss gently to ensure all ingredients are evenly coated with the dressing.
- 7
Add Anchovies (Optional)
If using, add the white anchovies on top of the salad for an extra layer of flavor.
- 8
Serve
Serve immediately while the salad is fresh and crisp.
