Panna Cotta Base

Method

Prepare the Panna Cotta

1

Bloom the Gelatin

In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin powder over the cold water. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it blooms and becomes gelatinous.

2

Heat the Cream Mixture

In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring gently until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is hot but not boiling.

3

Add Vanilla and Gelatin

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Then, add the bloomed gelatin to the warm cream mixture while stirring continuously until the gelatin is fully dissolved.

4

Pour into Molds

Pour the mixture into individual serving cups or molds. Allow to cool to room temperature before covering with plastic wrap.

5

Chill

Refrigerate the panna cotta for at least 4 hours or until set.

Prepare the Berry Sauce (optional)

6

Cook the Berries

In a small saucepan, combine the mixed berries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until the berries are soft and the mixture is slightly thickened.

7

Cool the Sauce

Remove from heat and let the berry sauce cool to room temperature. Optionally, you can blend it for a smoother texture.

Serve

8

Unmold the Panna Cotta

To serve, gently run a knife around the edge of each panna cotta and invert onto a plate. If using molds, you can dip the bottom of the molds in warm water for a few seconds to help release.

9

Add Berry Sauce

Top each panna cotta with the berry sauce before serving. Enjoy your delicious panna cotta!
