Method

Pancake Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the large egg and then add in the milk and melted unsalted butter. Mix until combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; some lumps are okay.

  4. 4

    Heat the Griddle

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter or cooking spray.

  5. 5

    Cook Pancakes

Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the hot skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove pancakes from the skillet and keep warm. Repeat with remaining batter. Serve two pancakes per plate topped with whipped butter and a drizzle of maple syrup.
