Preparation of Sandwich
- 1
Assemble the Sandwich
On one slice of sourdough bread, layer 1 slice of Swiss cheese, 2 slices of smoked ham, 1 slice of carved turkey, and then another slice of Swiss cheese. Top with a second slice of sourdough bread. Repeat this process to create a triple-decker sandwich with the remaining ingredients, ending with another slice of sourdough bread on top.
Batter Preparation
- 2
Prepare the Batter
In a mixing bowl, whisk together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 2 large eggs, 1 cup of milk, 1 tsp of salt, and 1 tsp of black pepper until smooth. The batter should be thick enough to coat the sandwich.
Frying
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat 2 cups of vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Fry the Sandwich
Carefully dip each assembled sandwich into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated. Gently place the battered sandwich into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side. Use a slotted spoon to remove the sandwich and drain on paper towels.
