Method
Prepare the Batter
- 1
Whisk the Batter
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 3 large eggs, 1 cup of heavy cream, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 2 tablespoons of sugar until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
Prepare the Coating
- 2
Crush the Cereal
In a food processor or a ziplock bag, crush 2 cups of Captain Crunch® cereal until it resembles coarse crumbs. Transfer to a shallow dish.
Dip the Bread
- 3
Dip Each Slice
Take each slice of challah bread and dip it into the prepared batter, ensuring both sides are well coated. Allow any excess batter to drip off.
Coat the Bread
- 4
Coat with Cereal
Immediately after dipping in the batter, press each slice into the crushed Captain Crunch® cereal, coating both sides generously.
Cook the French Toast
- 5
Heat the Pan
In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Once the butter is melted and bubbling, add the coated challah slices.
- 6
Cook Until Golden
Cook each slice for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Repeat for all slices, adding more butter if necessary.
Serve
- 7
Plate and Serve
Remove the French toast from the skillet and serve immediately. Enjoy your Captain Crunch® French Toast warm, optionally with syrup or fresh fruit.
