Method

Prepare Caramelized Onions

  1. 1

    Caramelize the Onions

Slice the medium yellow onion into thin rings. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté, stirring occasionally, until they are soft and golden brown, about 15-20 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Cook Beef Patty

  1. 2

    Form and Cook the Patty

Take 6 oz of ground beef and gently form it into a patty, making a small indentation in the center to prevent it from puffing up while cooking. Season both sides with salt and pepper. In a skillet or grill over medium-high heat, cook the patty for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patty and place a slice of American cheese on top. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the patty reaches your desired doneness.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 3

    Build Your Burger

Toast the potato roll on the skillet or grill until lightly golden. Start with the bottom half of the roll, add the lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked beef patty with melted cheese, then layer on the caramelized onions, tomato slice, and house-made pickles. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of burger sauce on top before closing with the upper half of the roll.
