Clams

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Clams

Rinse the clams under cold water to remove any sand or grit. Place the clams in a bowl of salted water for about 30 minutes to help purge them of any remaining sand.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Stuffing

In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and diced chourico, cooking until the chourico is browned. Remove from heat and stir in the breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, parsley, paprika, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Assembly & Baking

  1. 3

    Stuff the Clams

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Open each clam and place it in its shell, discarding any clams that do not open. Spoon the stuffing mixture generously on top of each clam.

  2. 4

    Bake

Arrange the stuffed clams on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the clams are cooked through and the tops are golden brown.

Serving

  1. 5

    Serve

Remove the clams from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm as an appetizer.
