Dumpling Filling & Wrappers
Cooking Instructions
1. Prepare the Filling
In a large bowl, combine ground pork, chopped cabbage, green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
2. Assemble the Gyoza
Place a gyoza wrapper on a clean surface. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the filling into the center of the wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, fold the wrapper in half, and pinch to seal. Make pleats along the edge for a decorative touch. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
3. Pan Fry the Gyoza
Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place gyoza in the skillet, flat side down. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
4. Steam the Gyoza
Carefully add water to the skillet (it may splatter). Cover immediately to steam the gyoza. Reduce heat to medium and steam for about 5-6 minutes, or until the water has evaporated and the gyoza are cooked through.
5. Serve
Uncover the skillet and allow the gyoza to cook for an additional minute or until the bottoms are crispy again. Remove from heat and serve with soy sauce or dipping sauce of your choice.
