Method

Preparing the Pork Chops

  1. 1

    Season the Pork Chops

In a small bowl, mix together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub the mixture all over the pork chops.

  2. 2

    Sear the Pork Chops

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Once hot, add the seasoned pork chops. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they develop a nice crust. Remove and set aside.

Making Rice Dressing

  1. 3

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sauté the diced onion, celery, and bell pepper for about 5 minutes until they are softened.

  2. 4

    Combine with Rice

Add cooked rice, chicken broth, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine and let simmer for 5 minutes until heated through.

Making Cornbread Dressing

  1. 5

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a separate pan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sauté the diced onion and celery for about 5 minutes until softened.

  2. 6

    Combine with Cornbread

In a bowl, combine the crumbled cornbread, sautéed vegetables, chicken broth, sage, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

Preparing Side Orders

  1. 7

    Cook Green Beans

In a pot of boiling salted water, cook the green beans for about 4-5 minutes until tender. Drain and set aside.

  2. 8

    Cook Carrots

In the same pot, add the sliced carrots and cook for about 5-7 minutes until tender. Drain and set aside.

Final Assembly

  1. 9

    Combine and Serve

Serve the smoked pork chops alongside the rice dressing, cornbread dressing, green beans, and carrots. Enjoy your meal!
