Method
Preparing the Ladyfingers
- 1
Make the Coffee Mixture
In a shallow bowl, combine the espresso coffee and coffee liqueur. Stir well and set aside to cool slightly.
- 2
Soak the Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, making sure not to soak them for too long to prevent them from becoming too soggy. Lay them in a single layer in a rectangular dish.
Making the Mascarpone Filling
- 3
Whisk the Egg Yolks
In a medium bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until pale and creamy.
- 4
Incorporate Mascarpone
Add the mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract to the egg yolk mixture. Mix until smooth and well combined.
- 5
Whip the Cream
In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- 6
Fold Cream into Mascarpone Mixture
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined and smooth.
Assembling the Tiramisu
- 7
Layer the Mixtures
Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of soaked ladyfingers in the dish. Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers on top, followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- 8
Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
Finishing Touch
- 9
Dust with Cocoa Powder
Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with cocoa powder using a fine sieve.
