Base Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Chop the onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Slice the green chili and set aside. Measure out the cooked jasmine rice and have all ingredients ready for cooking.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

  2. 3

    Sauté Vegetables

Add the chopped onion and bell pepper to the skillet. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they are tender. Then add the minced garlic and sliced green chili, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  3. 4

    Add Rice and Seasoning

Add the cooked jasmine rice to the skillet. Pour in the soy sauce, sriracha sauce, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine all the ingredients, ensuring the rice is evenly coated with the sauces.

  4. 5

    Add Basil

Fold in the chopped fresh basil leaves and cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the rice to heat through.

  5. 6

    Check for Seasoning

Taste the fried rice and adjust seasoning or add more sriracha if you prefer it spicier.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve Hot

Remove the skillet from heat and serve the spicy fried rice immediately. Enjoy it as a standalone dish or as a side with your favorite protein.
