House Rub

Chicken Wings

Method

House Rub Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Spices

In a small bowl, combine the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, brown sugar, and cayenne pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Chicken Preparation

  1. 2

    Prepare the Chicken Wings

Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Place them in a large bowl.

  2. 3

    Apply the Rub

Sprinkle the house rub evenly over the chicken wings. Toss the wings in the bowl until they are well coated with the rub.

Cooking the Wings

  1. 4

    Preheat the Smoker

Preheat your smoker to 250°F (120°C).

  2. 5

    Smoke the Wings

Place the seasoned chicken wings in the smoker and smoke for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

BBQ Sauce Preparation

  1. 6

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Stir well to combine.

  2. 7

    Simmer the Sauce

Bring the sauce to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Allow it to simmer for about 10 minutes until it thickens slightly.

Final Assembly

  1. 8

    Coat the Wings

Once the wings are smoked, remove them from the smoker and place them in a large bowl. Pour the BBQ sauce over the wings and toss to coat evenly.

  2. 9

    Serve

Serve the smoked chicken wings hot, with extra BBQ sauce on the side for dipping.
