Method

Preparation of Sushi Rice

  1. 1

    Rinse the Rice

Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.

  2. 2

    Cook the Rice

In a pot, combine the rinsed rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 20 minutes or until the water is absorbed.

  3. 3

    Season the Rice

Once cooked, remove from heat and let it sit covered for 10 minutes. In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt, then fold this mixture into the rice gently.

Cooking the Salmon

  1. 4

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  2. 5

    Season the Salmon

Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Brush both sides with olive oil and season with salt and black pepper.

  3. 6

    Grill the Salmon

Place the salmon fillets on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.

Making the Asian Stir-Fry

  1. 7

    Prepare the Stir-Fry

In a large skillet or wok, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger, sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

  2. 8

    Add Vegetables

Add broccoli, carrot, bell pepper, and snow peas to the skillet. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

  3. 9

    Season the Stir-Fry

Pour soy sauce over the vegetables and stir well to combine. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Preparing the Wasabi Mustard Sauce

  1. 10

    Mix Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk together wasabi paste, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, and honey until smooth.

Serving

  1. 11

    Plate the Dish

On each plate, serve a portion of sushi rice topped with grilled salmon and a side of stir-fried vegetables. Drizzle the wasabi mustard sauce over the salmon and garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
