Bread

Method

Preparation of Bread

  1. 1

    Slice the Baguette

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices.

  2. 2

    Toast the Bread

Arrange the sliced baguette on a baking sheet. Brush one side of each slice with olive oil. Bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

Preparation of Topping

  1. 3

    Chop the Tomatoes

While the bread is toasting, wash the tomatoes and chop them into small cubes. Place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 4

    Add Basil and Garlic

Finely chop the fresh basil leaves and mince the garlic cloves. Add both to the bowl with the chopped tomatoes.

  3. 5

    Season the Mixture

Drizzle the balsamic vinegar over the tomato mixture. Add salt and black pepper to taste. Mix everything gently until well combined.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Top the Bread

Once the baguette slices are toasted, remove them from the oven. Spoon a generous amount of the tomato and basil mixture onto the toasted side of each slice.

  2. 7

    Serve

Arrange the bruschetta on a serving platter and serve immediately as an appetizer or snack.
