Preparation of Bread

Slice the Baguette
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices.

Toast the Bread
Arrange the sliced baguette on a baking sheet. Brush one side of each slice with olive oil. Bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

Chop the Tomatoes
While the bread is toasting, wash the tomatoes and chop them into small cubes. Place them in a mixing bowl.

Add Basil and Garlic
Finely chop the fresh basil leaves and mince the garlic cloves. Add both to the bowl with the chopped tomatoes.

Season the Mixture
Drizzle the balsamic vinegar over the tomato mixture. Add salt and black pepper to taste. Mix everything gently until well combined.

Top the Bread
Once the baguette slices are toasted, remove them from the oven. Spoon a generous amount of the tomato and basil mixture onto the toasted side of each slice.

Serve
Arrange the bruschetta on a serving platter and serve immediately as an appetizer or snack.
