Burger Patty

Toppings

Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal parts and shape them into patties, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Heat the Grill or Pan

Preheat a grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a small amount of oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes on the other side.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cover the grill or pan to help melt the cheese.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Bun

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly if desired.

  2. 7

    Add Toppings

Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun. Add the cooked beef patty with melted cheese on top, followed by a slice of tomato.

  3. 8

    Complete the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately with your favorite condiments.
