Brine the Chicken
In a large bowl, mix together the buttermilk and hot sauce. Add the chicken thighs, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Prepare the Flour Mixture
In another bowl, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix well.

Cook the Bacon
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to drain.

Fry the Chicken
Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Remove the chicken from the buttermilk brine, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture until fully coated. Fry the chicken in batches for 6-8 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and place on a wire rack to drain excess oil.
