Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Generously season the sirloin steak with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Sear the Steak

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned steak and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting time for your preferred doneness.

  3. 3

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board for at least 5 minutes before slicing.

Fries Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and cut the russet potatoes into thin strips for fries.

  2. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.

  3. 6

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the cut potatoes to the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  4. 7

    Season the Fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste.

Garlic Butter Preparation

  1. 8

    Melt the Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat.

  2. 9

    Add Garlic and Parsley

Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the melted butter. Cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Stir in the chopped parsley.

Serve

  1. 10

    Plate the Dish

Slice the rested steak against the grain and serve it alongside the crispy fries. Drizzle the garlic butter over the steak and serve hot.
