Donuts

Method

Donuts

  1. 1

    Prepare the Donut Batter

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cocoa powder, and dried lavender. In another bowl, mix the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just combined.

  2. 2

    Bake the Donuts

Grease a donut pan and fill each cavity about 2/3 full with the batter. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let them cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Fermented Strawberry Glaze

  1. 3

    Prepare the Strawberry Glaze

In a saucepan, combine the fresh strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, and water. Cook over medium heat until the strawberries break down and the mixture thickens (about 15 minutes). Remove from heat and let it cool. Once cooled, add the fermentation starter and mix well. Cover and let it sit at room temperature for 2-3 days to ferment.

Malted Milk Chocolate Ice Cream

  1. 4

    Make the Ice Cream Base

In a bowl, whisk together the malted milk powder, heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, and vanilla extract until the sugar is dissolved. Stir in the melted chocolate chips until smooth.

  2. 5

    Chill and Churn

Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, then churn in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency. Transfer to a container and freeze until firm.
