DESSERTS

  1. 1

    Prepare the Strawberries

Rinse the fresh strawberries under cold water. Pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel. Remove the green tops and slice the strawberries in half or quarters, depending on their size.

  2. 2

    Macerate the Strawberries

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the sliced strawberries with granulated sugar and fresh lemon juice. Gently toss the strawberries to coat them evenly with the sugar and lemon juice.

  3. 3

    Let them Rest

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and let the strawberries sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. This will allow the sugar to draw out the juice from the strawberries, creating a delicious syrup.

  4. 4

    Add Fresh Mint

Just before serving, tear the fresh mint leaves into smaller pieces and add them to the macerated strawberries. Gently mix to combine.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the macerated strawberries in small bowls or dessert dishes. They can be enjoyed on their own or used as a topping for ice cream, yogurt, or pancakes.
