Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fruits

Wash all the fruits thoroughly. Slice the oranges, lemons, and limes into thin rounds. Core and slice the apple into thin wedges. If using strawberries, hull and slice them.

  2. 2

    Combine Ingredients

In a large pitcher, combine the sliced fruits. Add the sugar and honey, stirring gently to help dissolve the sweeteners with the juices from the fruits.

Mixing

  1. 3

    Add the Liquids

Pour the red wine, orange juice, and brandy into the pitcher with the fruits. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.

  2. 4

    Add Fizz

Just before serving, add the soda water or lemon-lime soda to the mixture for fizz. Stir gently to combine.

Serving

  1. 5

    Final Touch

Add a cinnamon stick to the pitcher for added flavor. Allow the sangria to sit for at least 2 hours in the refrigerator (or overnight) to let the flavors meld.

  2. 6

    Serve

Serve the sangria in glasses filled with ice, making sure to include some of the fruit slices in each glass.
