Steak Preparation

Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

In a small bowl, mix together salt and black pepper. Take the beef tenderloin and coat it evenly with the salt and pepper mixture on all sides.

  2. 2

    Sear the Steak

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned beef tenderloin to the skillet and sear each side for about 2-3 minutes until a golden-brown crust forms.

  3. 3

    Finish Cooking

Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue cooking the steak for an additional 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the desired internal temperature is reached (medium rare is 130°F/54°C).

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and transfer it to a cutting board. Let it rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute.
