Method
Oysters Preparation
- 1
Shuck the Oysters
Carefully shuck each oyster, removing the top shell and ensuring the oyster remains intact in the bottom shell. Place them on a tray.
- 2
Prepare Ice Bed
Fill a serving dish with ice. Arrange the shucked oysters on top of the ice to keep them chilled until serving.
Compound Butter Preparation
- 3
Soften the Butter
Allow the unsalted butter to sit at room temperature until soft and spreadable, about 30 minutes.
- 4
Mix Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, fresh parsley, minced garlic, lemon zest, chopped chives, sea salt, and black pepper. Mix until well blended.
- 5
- 6
Chill the Butter
Transfer the compound butter mixture to a sheet of plastic wrap. Roll it into a log shape, twist the ends to seal, and chill in the refrigerator until firm, about 1 hour.
Bread Service Preparation

- 8
Toast the Bread
Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and toast in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown.

Remove the toasted bread from the oven and sprinkle with sea salt to taste.
