Method
Cooking Instructions
Cook the Mafalda Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the mafalda pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Bolognese Sauce
In a large skillet or saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion, carrot, and celery. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are softened.
Add the Meat
Add the ground beef and ground pork to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, about 8-10 minutes.
Simmer the Sauce
Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Adjust seasonings to taste.
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked mafalda pasta to the sauce and toss to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
Serve
Serve the mafalda bolognese in bowls, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
