Base Layer

Prepare the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

Combine Mixtures
Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

Bake
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool
Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Chocolate Ganache

Heat the Cream
In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Do not let it boil.

Combine with Chocolate
Remove from heat and add the semi-sweet chocolate chips. Let sit for 2-3 minutes to soften.

Stir Until Smooth
Stir the mixture until the chocolate is completely melted and the ganache is smooth. Allow it to cool slightly.
Assembly and Decoration

Top the Cake
Once the cake is cooled, pour the chocolate ganache over the top, spreading it evenly with a spatula.

Decorate
Using a vegetable peeler, shave dark chocolate over the ganache and sprinkle chocolate sprinkles on top.

Slice the cake and serve it to your guests, enjoying the rich, chocolatey goodness!
