Method
Mojito Preparation
- 1
Muddle the Mint and Sugar
In a sturdy glass or cocktail shaker, add the fresh mint leaves and granulated sugar. Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, gently muddle the mint leaves with the sugar to release the mint oils. Be careful not to shred the leaves too much.
- 2
Add Lime Juice and Rum
Pour the fresh lime juice over the muddled mint and sugar mixture. Then, add the white rum to the glass or shaker. Stir the mixture gently to combine the flavors.
- 3
Add Ice
Fill the glass with ice cubes, allowing the ice to float on top of the mint and rum mixture.
- 4
Top with Soda Water
Slowly pour the soda water over the ice, letting it mix gently with the rum and mint mixture. Adjust the amount of soda water to taste.
- 5
Garnish and Serve
Garnish your mojito with a sprig of mint and a couple of lime wedges on the rim of the glass. Serve immediately with a straw and enjoy!
