Pulled Pork Sandwich Ingredients
Method
Pulled Pork Sandwich Directions
- 1
Prepare the Pork
In a large bowl, mix together brown sugar, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture all over the pork shoulder. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour, or overnight in the refrigerator for best results.
- 2
Cook the Pork
Place the marinated pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Add chopped onion, minced garlic, and apple cider vinegar. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until the pork is tender and easily shredded.
- 3
Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and let it rest for a few minutes. Use two forks to shred the meat into bite-sized pieces.
- 4
Combine with Sauce
Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker. Pour in the barbecue sauce and mix well to combine. Let it cook on low for an additional 30 minutes to heat through.
- 5
Assemble the Sandwich
Toast the burger buns lightly. Place a generous amount of the pulled pork mixture on the bottom half of each bun. Top with pickles and the other half of the bun. Serve with your choice of side.
