Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, mix together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.

  2. 2

    Season the Meats

Rub the marinade all over the pork shoulder and brisket thoroughly. Allow to marinate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight in the refrigerator.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Smoker

Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).

  4. 4

    Smoke the Pork Shoulder

Place the pork shoulder in the smoker and smoke for about 6 hours or until it reaches an internal temperature of 195°F (90°C).

  5. 5

    Smoke the Brisket

After 3 hours of smoking the pork, add the brisket to the smoker and continue to smoke both meats for an additional 4 hours.

  6. 6

    Rest the Meats

Once both meats are cooked, remove them from the smoker and let them rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

  7. 7

    Serve

Slice the pork shoulder and brisket, and serve on a platter with your choice of sides. Drizzle with apple cider vinegar before serving for added flavor.
