Prepare the Peanuts
Rinse the green peanuts under cold water to remove any dirt or debris.

Boil the Peanuts
In a large pot, combine the rinsed peanuts, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over high heat.

Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and let the peanuts simmer for 2 to 3 hours, or until they are tender. Stir occasionally and check the water level, adding more if necessary.

If desired, add any optional seasoning like cajun spice or garlic powder during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
