House Red Wine Ingredients
Method
Wine Making Directions
Prepare the Grapes
Wash the grapes thoroughly and remove any leaves or stems. Crush the grapes to release their juice into a fermentation container.
Add Yeast
Sprinkle the wine yeast over the grape mixture and stir gently. Cover the container with a cloth to allow for airflow while preventing contaminants.
Fermentation
Let the mixture ferment in a warm, dark place (ideally around 20-25°C) for about 7-14 days, stirring daily. Look for bubbles and foam indicating fermentation.
Press the Wine
Once fermentation is complete (when bubbling has stopped), press the mixture to separate the liquid from the solids. Use a strainer or cheesecloth to extract all the juice.
Aging (Optional)
If desired, add oak chips to the wine for added flavor and aroma. Transfer the wine to a clean container and let it age for 3-6 months in a cool, dark area.
Bottling
Once aged, siphon the wine into clean bottles, leaving some space at the top. Seal with corks and label.
Enjoy
Allow the wine to rest for a few weeks before tasting. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
