Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Coffee Mixture
In a shallow bowl, combine the freshly brewed espresso coffee, sugar, and Marsala wine. Stir until the sugar is dissolved and set aside.
- 2
Prepare the Mascarpone Mixture
In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs until light and frothy. Gently fold the beaten eggs into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.
Assembly
- 3
Soak the Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not too soggy, then arrange them in a single layer at the bottom of a 9x9 inch dish.
- 4
Layer the Mixture
Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the soaked ladyfingers, smoothing it out evenly. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- 5
Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
Serving
- 6
Add Toppings
Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings.
- 7
Slice and Serve
Cut the tiramisu into squares and serve chilled. Enjoy your classic Italian dessert!
