Prepare the Chicken
In a large pot, place the whole chicken. Add 10 cups of water, ensuring the chicken is fully submerged.

Simmer the Broth
Bring the pot to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to low and cover. Let it simmer for about 1.5 to 2 hours until the chicken is cooked through.

Shred the Chicken
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the pot and let it cool slightly. Shred the chicken, discarding the skin and bones. Set aside.

Strain the Broth
Strain the broth through a fine mesh sieve into another pot, discarding the solids. Keep the broth warm on low heat.

Prepare the Tortillas
Stack the corn tortillas and cut them into thin strips.

Fry the Tortilla Strips
In a separate pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the tortilla strips in batches, frying until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch. Drain on paper towels.

In a bowl, add shredded chicken. Pour the hot broth over the chicken.
