Shrimp and Diabla Sauce

Method

Preparing the Diabla Sauce

  1. 1

    Step 1: Sauté Garlic

In a medium skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  2. 2

Step 2: Add Tomato Sauce and Chipotle

Stir in the tomato sauce and chopped chipotle peppers. Cook for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

  3. 3

    Step 3: Season the Sauce

Add lime juice, salt, and black pepper to the sauce. Stir well and remove from heat.

Cooking the Shrimp

  1. 4

    Step 1: Cook Shrimp

In the same skillet, add the peeled and deveined shrimp. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, until the shrimp turn pink and are fully cooked.

  2. 5

    Step 2: Combine with Sauce

Pour the previously prepared diabla sauce over the cooked shrimp. Stir to coat the shrimp evenly and heat through for another 2 minutes.

Serving

  1. 6

    Step 1: Prepare Plate

On a large plate, place a portion of cooked rice on one side and the California vegetables on the other.

  2. 7

    Step 2: Add Shrimp

Spoon the shrimp and diabla sauce onto the plate, next to the rice and vegetables.

  3. 8

    Step 3: Garnish

Top the shrimp with shredded lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo.
