Shrimp Marinade Preparation

Prepare the Marinade
In a large bowl, combine the minced garlic, lime juice, olive oil, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to form a marinade.

Marinate the Shrimp
Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the marinade. Toss to ensure all shrimp are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

Rinse the Rice
In a fine mesh sieve, rinse the long-grain rice under cold running water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch.

Cook the Rice
In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 18-20 minutes, or until rice is tender and water is absorbed.

Add lime juice and salt to the mashed avocado. Mix well and set aside.
