Sangria Preparation

Make the Cinnamon Bark Simple Syrup
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water with 1 cup of sugar and the cinnamon bark. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Reduce heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool.

Combine the Ingredients
In a large pitcher, combine the Merlot wine, Calvados Apple Brandy, lemon juice, and cooled cinnamon bark simple syrup. Stir to mix thoroughly.

Add Cider and Fruits
Pour in the apple cider and stir gently. Add the diced pear, sliced apple, and halved red grapes to the mixture.

Chill and Serve
Refrigerate the sangria for at least 2 hours to let the flavors meld. Serve chilled over ice, garnished with additional apple slices or grapes if desired.
