Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Bread
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2-inch thick slices. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet.
- 2
Toast the Bread
Drizzle the bread slices with olive oil on both sides. Toast in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
- 3
Prepare the Tomato Mixture
While the bread is toasting, dice the fresh tomatoes and place them in a mixing bowl. Finely chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the tomatoes.
- 4
Add Flavorings
Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the tomato and basil mixture. Stir in balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and let it sit for a few minutes to combine the flavors.
- 5
Assemble the Bruschetta
Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven. Spoon the tomato and basil mixture generously on top of each slice of bread.
- 6
Serve
Serve immediately while the bread is warm and crispy.
