Make the Biscuit Dough
In a large bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in buttermilk and maple syrup until just combined.

Shape and Bake
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it comes together. Pat it into a 1-inch thick round. Cut out biscuits using a round cutter. Place on a baking sheet and bake at 425°F (220°C) for 12-15 minutes or until golden.
