Preparation
- 1
Measure and Cut Fabric
Using the measuring tape, measure the desired length and width for the t-shirt. Cut 1 yard of cotton fabric and 0.25 yard of spandex fabric according to your measurements.
- 2
Prepare the Sewing Machine
Set up your sewing machine with black sewing thread, ensuring it’s threaded properly and ready to use.
Sewing
- 3
Pin the Fabric
Lay the cut pieces of fabric flat on a clean surface. Use the pins to secure the pieces together, aligning the edges as you pin them.
- 4
Sew the Sides
Using the sewing machine, sew along the pinned edges of the fabric, leaving a 1/4 inch seam allowance. Repeat for both sides of the shirt.
- 5
Sew the Sleeves
Attach the sleeves to the body of the t-shirt by pinning them in place and sewing along the edges. Make sure to maintain a consistent seam allowance.
- 6
Hem the Bottom and Sleeves
Fold the edges of the sleeves and bottom of the t-shirt inwards about 1/2 inch, pinning them in place. Sew along the folded edge to create a hem.
- 7
Finish Your T-Shirt
After completing all the seams and hems, remove the pins and give your t-shirt a good press with an iron for a neat finish.
