Method

Preparing the Batter

  1. 1

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet and Dry

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; small lumps are okay.

Cooking the Pancakes

  1. 4

    Preheat the Pan

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease it with a little butter or oil.

  2. 5

    Cook the Pancakes

Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

  3. 6

    Repeat

Repeat with the remaining batter, greasing the skillet as needed.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve Warm

Serve the pancakes warm with maple syrup drizzled over the top. Optionally, add fresh berries for extra flavor.
