Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare Your Workspace

Set up your sewing area by ensuring your sewing machine is set up and threaded with matching thread color. Gather all tools and materials at hand.

  2. 2

    Measure and Cut Fabric

Using the measuring tape, measure out the required dimensions for the large t-shirt. Typically, a large size would require a length of about 75 cm and width of 60 cm. Cut out two pieces of fabric for the front and back of the t-shirt.

Sewing

  1. 3

    Sew the Shoulders

Place the front and back fabric pieces right sides together. Pin the shoulder seams in place and sew them together using the sewing machine with a straight stitch.

  2. 4

    Sew the Sides

With the shirt inside out, pin the side seams from the bottom of the sleeves to the hem. Sew along the pinned edges.

  3. 5

    Add Sleeves

Cut two rectangles of fabric for the sleeves, approximately 25 cm long and 20 cm wide. Pin and sew the sleeves to the armholes of the shirt.

  4. 6

    Hem the Bottom and Sleeves

Fold the bottom of the shirt and the ends of the sleeves up about 1.5 cm and pin in place. Sew along the hemmed edges to finish.

Finishing Touches

  1. 7

    Iron the T-Shirt

Once all seams are sewn, carefully iron the t-shirt to remove any wrinkles and give it a polished finish.

  2. 8

    Optional Fabric Painting

If desired, use fabric paint to add designs or patterns to your t-shirt. Allow the paint to dry completely before wearing.
