Prepare the Grape Leaves
If using fresh grape leaves, blanch them in boiling water for about 2 minutes until softened. If using jarred leaves, rinse them under cold water to remove excess salt.

Stuff the Leaves
Place a grape leaf shiny side down on a flat surface. Add about 1 tablespoon of the rice mixture at the base of the leaf. Fold the sides over the filling and roll it tightly from the base to the tip. Repeat with remaining leaves and filling.

Add Liquid
Pour water or vegetable broth over the stuffed leaves until they are just covered.

Cook the Grape Leaves
Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 45 minutes until the rice is tender and the leaves are cooked through.

Serve
Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm or at room temperature with additional lemon slices on the side.
