Preparing the Baklava

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare Phyllo Dough
Unroll the phyllo dough and cover it with a damp cloth to prevent it from drying out.

Melt Butter
In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter and set aside.

Mix Nuts and Sugar
In a mixing bowl, combine ground walnuts, ground pistachios, sugar, and cinnamon. Mix well.

Cut the Baklava
Using a sharp knife, cut the baklava into diamond or square shapes before baking.

Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes, or until golden brown.
Making Honey Syrup

Add Vanilla
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Let the syrup cool slightly.

Drizzle Syrup Over Baklava
Once the baklava is done baking, remove it from the oven and immediately pour the cooled syrup evenly over the hot baklava.

Cool and Serve
Allow the baklava to cool completely before serving. This allows the syrup to soak in.
