Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Fries
Start by washing and cutting the potatoes into fries.
- 2
Fry the Potatoes
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the potato strips in batches until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels. Season with salt.
- 3
Form the Patties
While the fries are cooking, divide the ground beef into four equal portions and form them into balls.
- 4
Smash the Patties
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Place two beef balls in the skillet and smash them down with a spatula to form thin patties. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook for 3-4 minutes on one side.
- 5
Flip and Add Cheese
Flip the patties and place slices of cheddar cheese on top. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the cheese is melted.
- 6
Assemble the Burgers
Toast the burger buns lightly and layer with lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, and the two smashed patties on each bun.
- 7
Serve
Serve the double smash burgers with fries on the side.
