Curly Fries Ingredients

Preparation

Curly Fries Preparation Directions

1. Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Using a spiralizer or curly fry cutter, cut the potatoes into curly shapes.

2. Soak the Fries

Place the cut curly fries in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

3. Make the Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

4. Heat the Oil

In a deep fryer or large pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

5. Coat the Fries

Drain the curly fries and pat them dry with paper towels. Toss them in the flour mixture until evenly coated.

6. Fry the Curly Fries

Carefully drop the coated curly fries into the hot oil in small batches. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-5 minutes.

7. Drain and Season

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fries from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.

8. Serve

Serve the curly fries hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
