Violet Simple Syrup

Cocktail Ingredients

Method

Violet Simple Syrup Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Simple Syrup

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved.

  2. 2

    Infuse with Violet Flowers

Once the sugar is dissolved, add 1 cup of dried violet flowers. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then remove from heat and let it steep for 30 minutes.

  3. 3

    Strain the Syrup

After steeping, strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve into a clean jar or bottle, discarding the violet flowers. Allow it to cool completely before using.

Cocktail Assembly

  1. 4

    Muddle the Blueberries

In a cocktail shaker, add 1 cup of fresh blueberries. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently crush the blueberries, releasing their juices.

  2. 5

    Add Lemon Juice and Syrup

Pour in 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice and 2 tablespoons of the prepared violet simple syrup into the shaker with the muddled blueberries.

  3. 6

    Shake the Mixture

Fill the shaker with ice cubes to taste, then secure the lid and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled.

  4. 7

    Strain and Serve

Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice and top with 1 cup of club soda. Stir gently to combine.

  5. 8

    Garnish and Enjoy

Garnish with a few whole blueberries and a lemon slice on the rim of the glass. Serve immediately and enjoy your Violet Fauxregard!
