Method

Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patty

In a bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined. Divide mixture into two equal portions and shape into patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached.

Bacon-Onion Jam

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet, cook the applewood smoked bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and chop into small pieces.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Onion

In the same skillet, add chopped onion and sauté until translucent. Add the chopped bacon back to the skillet.

  3. 5

    Make the Jam

Stir in brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, and a pinch of salt. Cook until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Bourbon Aioli

  1. 6

    Make the Aioli

In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, bourbon, minced garlic, and lemon juice. Stir well and season with salt to taste. Set aside in the refrigerator until serving.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Prepare the Buns

Toast the brioche buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 8

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each brioche bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a cooked patty, a slice of Swiss cheese, a generous spoonful of bacon-onion jam, and a slice of tomato. Spread bourbon aioli on the top half of the bun and place it on top to complete the burger.

  3. 9

    Serve with Frites

Serve the burgers with Belgian frites on the side. Enjoy your L'Hamburger!
