Espresso Base
Method
Brewing Espresso
- 1
Prepare the Espresso Machine
Ensure your espresso machine is clean and ready for use. Turn on the machine and allow it to preheat for about 15 minutes.
- 2
Measure the Coffee
Using a scale, measure 18 grams of freshly ground espresso coffee. The grind should be fine, similar to table salt.
- 3
Tamp the Coffee
Place the ground coffee into the portafilter basket. Use a tamper to press the coffee down evenly and firmly, creating a smooth, flat surface.
- 4
Attach the Portafilter
Lock the portafilter into the espresso machine's group head.
- 5
Brew the Espresso
Start the machine and let it brew for about 25-30 seconds, aiming for a yield of approximately 30 ml of espresso.
- 6
Serve
Once brewed, serve the espresso immediately in a pre-warmed espresso cup. Enjoy your strong, aromatic espresso!
